The LLC Is Official, a Junkyard Run, and Getting It Into Every Live Project

A normal workday that turned into a genuinely big one the moment an email showed up on the way to a junkyard.

Ace Hardware, then back to ALM's tax sync

Cashiered at Ace Hardware from 8:00 to 13:00, then went back to American Laser Mark from 13:30 to 14:00 for another round on the FastManager-to-QuickBooks Online integration. Confirmed the actual root cause from yesterday's digging: FastManager just isn't sending the tax information to QuickBooks correctly on invoice creation. The workaround for now, instead of hand-editing invoice line items every time, is simpler — have QuickBooks re-apply the taxes itself. Same underlying fix as before, just a cleaner way to trigger it in the meantime.

A salvage-yard run, and an email that changed the rest of the day

From 14:30 to 16:00, helped a friend get out to Sturtevant Auto Salvage to pick up a front passenger door lock actuator to replace the broken one from a few days ago — cheaper and faster than waiting on BC Automotive to track one down.

On the drive out there, an email came in: the LLC filing for my business was approved. Jeff Parrish PC Services is officially a real LLC now, not just a filing in progress.

Getting "LLC" into everything that's actually live

Spent the rest of the afternoon doing it properly instead of just changing a logo somewhere: swept "LLC" into every live reference to Jeff Parrish PC Services across every JPPS and KB9GXK project — website copy and footers, legal documents (the store License Agreement, OmniBridge's license file for both the download page and the Windows installer), brand assets, wiki page titles, the company-name fields baked into each program's own install packages, and the compiled-in company name in a couple of the Windows programs. About 75 files across 15 projects, all saved and pushed. Bumped the License Agreement's version number too, since any edit to that text needs its own version so existing customers stay tied to the exact wording they actually agreed to.

Then actually put it live instead of leaving it sitting unreleased: tagged and released store (v0.4.24), notify (v0.2.4), software-support (v0.1.8), OmniBridge (v1.0.9-beta14), mlvpn-rs (v0.7.6), and rust-proxy (v0.1.3) through each one's automatic release process, then hand-deployed wiki.jpps.us and TrustBridge (neither one has that automatic process set up yet) the same way I've done before — build it locally, ship it over, and restart the service. Checked every one of them live afterward instead of just trusting it worked.

Rounded it out on jpps.us's About page with a proper note on the LLC formation date, and pulled some real detail over from this site's own résumé data to flesh out the owner bio — the activity-aide-to-director promotion story at Bayside Terrace, and specifics on the Comcast-to-SD-WAN-to-fiber migration from the Judge Group role.
